At the beginning it was Ginnungagap. No one remembers what this ancient word means, but the legend say it meant the open precipice,  the no end abyss before all what it was, it is or it will be; here it might be thousand of world and free space would still remain. Ginnungagap was shapeless but not empty- it didn't  contain anything , still everything was there.

Is said that two opposite world where there at the beginning: one was called Muspellheim and it was the fire world. Here no ordinary creatures could survive because of the flames consuming everything. Even the deity avoided to come near this realm. Even though, here were living terrifying creatures, flamed haired and with body made of lava, the Fire Giants.

The other world was Nifellheim; here the cold and the terrible frost were reign- no end ice lands and no border fog enclosed that realm. In the middle of this land a huge whirlpool, Hergelmer, gave birth to all the rivers in the world.

At one uncertain time, a new border realm turned up between the two opposite  and irreconcilable worlds. Here the fire and ice came together and transformed in something new, they transformed into life. When the glaciers began to slide down, when the ice met the fire, a terrible  thunder brought out.  The ice woken up by the fire began to dis-embody a new creature. This creature had the shape of a human and soon he began to slightly move .
